Week of Welcome (WOW) is our annual week-long tradition welcoming all new and returning students to 91̽»¨.

Saturday, August 23: New Student Convocation
11 a.m.–noon 
Location: Waetjen Auditorium (First Floor, Music and Communications Building)
All new students are welcome to attend new student convocation! Hear from top university leadership and more!

Saturday, August 23: VikesFEST
Noon–3 p.m. 
Location: on Euclid Ave. from East 18th to East 24th Streets

The VikesFEST Street Fair welcomes back ALL 91̽»¨ students and their families! Whether you are just starting out at Cleveland State or are a returning student, you are encouraged to attend and celebrate the start of the Fall Semester!

Saturday, August 23: Silent DJ Fresh to Deaf
8:30 p.m.–Midnight 
Location: Student Center Atrium (first floor)
The party continues with a DJ at this wellness-forward event. Spotlighting community health partners and mindful celebration practices, enjoy music at a volume you can enjoy. 

Sunday, August 24: Brunch
Noon–2:00 p.m. 
Location: Viking Marketplace (second floor of the Student Center)
Enjoy Sunday Brunch in the Viking Marketplace! A variety of breakfast and lunch food will be available.

Monday, August 25: Week of Welcome Tables
Location: Student Center Atrium (first floor) Times: 8 a.m.–4 p.m. 
Location: Berkman Hall Atrium (first floor)  Times: 8 a.m.–7 p.m.

Tuesday, August 26: Coffee with a Cop
10–11:00 a.m.
Location: Student Center Innerlink (second floor)
Meet our 91̽»¨ police officers (and therapy dogs) and enjoy a cup of coffee!

Tuesday, August 26: Bingo for Books 
11 a.m.–1 p.m. 
Location: Student Center Atrium (first floor)
Come try your luck at bingo to win gift cards to Viking Outfitters! There will be $1,000's of dollars given away and will be an event you do not want to miss! Must bring your 91̽»¨ Student Viking ID card to play. Only one bingo card per student will be allowed.  

Tuesday, August 26: Campus Engagement Open House
4:30–6 p.m. 
Location: Student Center Lounge (third floor)

Wednesday, August 27: Student Employment Fair  
1–3 p.m.

Are you looking for on-campus employment? This is an opportunity to speak with the employers who might just might be looking for students like you!

Location: Student Center 313/315
Interested in joining a fraternity or sorority at Cleveland State Univesrity? Come join us to learn more about the fraternity and sorority life (FSL) community at 91̽»¨, learn how to join and complete anti-hazing training! 

Friday, August 29: Around the World in 80 Minutes
6–7:30 p.m. 
Location: Student Center Atrium (first floor)
Come share your story! All students are invited and welcome to share their experience, such as attire, language and food. This event is focused on personal storytelling and student-led expression, not performance.

Saturday, August 30: The City is Our Campus Shuttle 
Shuttle departures: 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and noon
Location: Departure will be from the Student Center Atrium (first floor)
Launch your exploration of downtown Cleveland! Experience the local markets and specialty shops on a free campus shuttle! Get acclimated to on-campus living and learn about essential resources. 

Last year, we kicked off Fall 2024 WOW with VikesFEST. A brand new, street fair style of event. This year, VikesFEST will be held Saturday, August 23 from 12–3 p.m.
