Sept 9th Generative AI Workshop I Introduction:  

11:30a-12:30p

This workshop offers a beginner-friendly introduction to generative AI tools, focusing on ChatGPT and Microsoft CoPilot. Tailored for higher education faculty and staff with little to no experience with AI, this session will demystify how these tools work and demonstrate practical applications in teaching, research, and administrative tasks. By the end of the workshop, you’ll gain the confidence to start experimenting with AI tools and discover how they can make your academic and administrative processes more efficient and effective.

Nov 6th Generative AI Workshop III Implementation:

11:30a-12:30p

This workshop explores authentic assessments that align well with the presence and use of generative AI. Rather than using AI to create assessments, the session focuses on crafting meaningful learning experiences that remain relevant and effective in an AI-enhanced classroom. Participants will consider practical examples across disciplines, reflect on how AI may be impacting their current assignments, and leave with adaptable strategies for strengthening academic integrity and student engagement.

Nov 10th Creative Teaching: Applying Universal Design to Hybrid & Remote Graduate Courses:

BH316 2:30p- 3:30p

In-person session; will not be recorded.

There are over 130 learning spaces on campus that have technology available for hybrid or remote pedagogy. Learn how to make the most of those spaces and practices. This session is facilitated by Shelley Rose and Chris Rennison who have experience delivering multiple modes or formats for a course, lesson, or assignment. Participants will explore creative teaching strategies based on universal design that apply to hybrid and remote teaching at the graduate level. We will poll participants to plan a follow-up session on specific tools and equipment that will help instructors meet graduate students where they are and foster student success.

In addition to our regular workshop, we will have specialized series workshop during the academic year as a part of our Cultivating Creativity theme. These workshops will be longer and more vary in topics and style/ activity.
