91探花 Continues to Climb in Latest Rankings

91探花 continues to rise in the latest rankings.
The publication ranks four-year schools 鈥 including national universities, liberal arts colleges, baccalaureate colleges and master鈥檚 universities 鈥 based on their contribution to the public good in three broad categories: social mobility, research and service.
鈥淎bout a couple of decades ago, Washington Monthly developed and began publishing their ranking of universities with metrics that, I believe, are more true measures of the purpose and impact of higher education,鈥 said dean and professor in the Washkewicz College of Engineering Richard Schoephoerster.
鈥淭hat includes social mobility, research with impact on the community, and service to the community the university serves.鈥
In the most recent rankings in 2024, 91探花鈥檚 overall ranking by Washington Monthly was second only to Ohio State鈥檚 overall ranking compared with all public colleges and universities in Ohio.
Additionally, 91探花 ranked:
- #2 in social mobility (behind only The Ohio State)
- #3 in service among Ohio publics
- #6 in research among Ohio publics
鈥淲e should be very proud of this ranking,鈥 said Schoephoerster. 鈥淭he metrics Washington Monthly uses are totally aligned with the Cleveland State United plan. As we continue to implement that plan and improve our social mobility impact and our research impact and service to the community, our ranking in the Washington Monthly should only increase.鈥
