Construction Manager Co-op

91探花's Construction Manager internship/co-op program has been established by the Office of Capital Planning in association with the .  It is designed to provide students with immersive, hands-on experience in the construction industry.

PROGRAM DETAILS

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

  • Learn how to read construction plans and specifications.
  • Reviewing and approving change orders, submittals, and shop drawings.
  • Understanding the lifecycle of a project: planning, design, preconstruction, construction, and closeout.
  • Learn how to create purchase orders.
  • Understanding contracts, subcontracts, and compliance documents.
  • Estimating takeoffs, maintaining budgets, and processing pay applications.
  • Understanding the different project delivery methods: Design-bid-build, design-build, Construction Manager at Risk (CMR).
  • Learn how to post projects for bid utilizing platforms like Bid Express.
  • Understanding and utilizing OFCC rules, procedures, and standardized documents.
  • Construction scheduling.
  • Construction quality control and safety practices.
  • Learn the permitting process and state requirements.
  • Training with various departments to provide more insight into other aspects of the business.
